Human Life Vs. Lovers & Gamblers

Lovers & Gamblers’, Little Boots’ touring DJ/reMixing crew, latest output is this reMix of LA ElectroPop–band-to-watch Human Life’s new single ‘Wherever We Are’.

And what a reMix it is! It’s got the kick and bass of an Electro-House floorfiller and the synth melodies and vocoding of the sweetest ElectroPop track. There is something, I can’t quite put my finger on, a bit The Presets about the mix, maybe it’s just the groove? Whatever it is, it’s works so well!

Où Est Le Swimming Pool’s Charlie Haddon R.I.P.

Sad news this evening.

Charlie Haddon, lead singer of ElectroPop heroes Où Est Le Swimming Pool took his own life today whilst the band were at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium.

Not much is know about the circumstances but the news has been confirmed by both the band and festival organisers.

Où Est Le Swimming Pool were one of the best, most fun, electronic Pop bands in the UK right now. The put out top quality SynthPop, were awesome live and will be missed.

Our thoughts go out to Charlie’s family, friends and the rest of the band.

Killa Kela’s ‘Everyday’ reMixes

KillaKela

Beatboxer extraordinaire Killa Kela’s tune ‘Everyday’ has been floating around for a while now, the track sees him explore a more Pop side of his musical output and is finally getting a full release with a cracking reMix package.

Back from the void twice this week Lifelike nails it again taking this really poppy song and making really poppy disco.  Allen Walker up the Nu-Disco game even further, keeping more of the song structure than Lifelike but dropping in a big Filter-House mix. Devil’s Gun take the track into soaring synth territory with a deep bass heavy mix layered with shining analog solos.

Monarchy’s ‘The Phoenix Alive’ video!

The anticipation for a long player from Monarchy just grows and grows each time I listen to them and now not only do the make some of the best SynthPop around but they also have fantastic videos!

This new video is 4:31 of pure space-porn with a nice Sci-Fi narrative. In combination with the music I could watch this again and again…and I have!

‘The Phoenix Alive’’s video was directed by Nils Porrmann @ Dandelion & Burdock, the single drops 16th April.

Monsieur Adi Vs. Fear Of Tigers

FearOfTigers04

We love a bit of Fear Of Tigers and we love a bit of Monsieur Adi so one reMixing the other is all good in our books!

Adi’s mix of Fear Of Tigers ‘I Can Make The Pain Disappear’ really does live up to expectations. Slowing the track down into a beautiful, string laden, Dreamwave tune Adi really plays his ‘A’ game with a really emotive piece.

Top stuff!:

Popular Damage – Exclusive

PopularDamage02

Manchester/Berlin project Popular Damage are gearing up for their first proper UK release of ‘The Royal Fly’ EP.

This track, ‘Exclusive’, is a perfect example of Popular Damage who can take noisy, chaotic sounds and make catchy, even melodic, electronic Pop tunes.

With a bunch of buzzing analog synths and a Post-Punk attitude Popular Damage lay waste to the music landscape with electronic songs that actually rock!

The Vanish – Hold On

TheVanish02

I’ve been waiting pretty excitedly for clearance to post these tracks and it has to go and happen when I’m ill doesn’t it! Better make up for lost time!

electronic rumors has been a pretty big fan and supporter of The Vanish since way back when they first crossed our radar (or at least April last year!). The original demo tracks simply blew our socks off. With one foot in Indie cool and the other on the French-House dancefloor they seem to tick every box..in permanent marker!

It seems like it’s been an eternity waiting for these two Australian’s based in New York to get their début single out, but it’s finally here. Monday saw the release of the ‘Hold On’ single on Eye Industries, with both the Original version and the reMixes gaining a respectable amount of national radio airplay herein the UK.

So, here we can preview for you two of the reMixes from the single. First up a reMix by a man who needs no introduction, Russ Chimes, or ‘he-who-makes-the-internet-stop-when-he-drops-a-reMix’. Russ has worked his magic and delivers 100%, chopping up the vocals into an arpeggiated groove and countering that with his huge trademark retro lead synths. When it kicks back in after the drop……that’s the shit right there!

Gemini Club have a tough act to follow, but rise to the challenge admirably dropping a real smooth piano led Disco track with some nice dirty synths…and then going dirty synth apeshit at the end, Great stuff!

I’m sticking to my guns, I may have said 2009 would be the summer of The Vanish, but now I’m definite…2010…summer of The Vanish!

Right, time to stop reading and head to one of the following musical emporiums to get yourself a nice, high quality, The Vanish single, no?

Midnight Club

MidnightClub

French trio Midnight Club have over 20 years of production experience between them that stretches back to the 80’s, and that shines through in their music.

Moroder-esq synth work and modern House beats collide on their electronic odyssey ‘The Machine’, the title track of their début EP. A Synthesizer journey that owes as much to Jarre as it does to Danger and Kavinsky. Worship handle the reMix work, ramping up the lead lines and hitting the Disco drums.
