Out this weekend is the new single from London’s resident ElectroPop nutcase Charli XCX.
Having come a long way in the last few years Charli has really hones her sound, that is carved out a sound for herself. A lot darker now than she used to be, her new single ‘Nuclear Seasons’ is a moody and edge peice of ElectroPop backed by tribal percussion and buzzsaw synths while Charli wails about, in her own words “…about a sense of decay. Whether it be the decaying of love, the decaying of life or the decaying of a period of time. Its about being lost and frozen and surviving. Its about being on your own and feeling magic alive when you come through the other side.” Charli XCX’s transition from madcap bubble-gum to something deeper looks like the making of a seriously interesting artist. Check the singer here and head over to her website to download for the price of an email address.
