Secretly bubbling away in the background, London’s Avec Sans are our next big ElectroPop hope. We’ve been following them with great interest over the past year and really feel that it;s time for them to hit the big time. Perhaps their new single, Hold On, not our 24 hours and already gaining critical acclaim, will be the track to do it.

Rubbing a little ChipTune vibe into their mixture, Avec Sans in equal measures grime up and smooth out their sound. The bitcrushed sounds ass a little roughness to their Icy ElectroPop while the song itself, belted out in a passionate performance from Alice, is the cleanest Pop tune the duo have released to date. This combination of gritty electronics and shiny Pop is what’s going to make keeping an eye, or ear, on Avec Sans so exciting. Hold On delivers compelling beats, a swirl of biting synths and a chorus that’ll stick in your head all day. What more could you want?

As previously mentioned, band name aside, new SynthWave duo Night Drive’s ‘Drones’ single is a thing of awesomeness. An energetic slice of Indie tinged retro Pop that has us expecting great things from these two,

Here’s the cute video for electronic rumors’ artists New Arcades’ Take A Breath. The track, a glorious slice of optimistic retro ElectroPop, comes from their début self-titled EP.

Rebecca Gravil produced and directed this sweet homage to 80s rom-coms, packing it with little nods to the genre.

Last month we introduced you to the Dub Mix of Alex Metric‘s team-up with Jacques Lu Cont’s Safe With You. It’s was surprisingly amazing, but all we could have asked for is a bit more in the vocal department from Niki & The Dove‘s Malin, and more of a Pop structure. Well, we didn’t have to wait long as this past weekend Pete Tong premièred the full vocal version of the track, grab yourself a listen.

Possibly one of the Pop songs of the year, Metric and Lu Cont don’t hold back the big builds and uplifting hook, weaving them effortlessly with hard hitting dancefloor beats and gruff basslines. Malin’s vocals soar over the track and really make the track what it is, the chorus is so insanely hands-in-the-air that not even shoving your hands deep in your pockets will prevent the inevitable. Expect to hear this a lot over the summer, and your life will be enriched for it. Bring Pop and Dance together perfectly.

The Fool is the new single from Belgian synthetic Disco maestro ATTAR!. Released later in the month on Eskimo Recordings, The Fool is actually the début solo release from ATTAR!, ex-one half of Mustang, despite the fact that it seems otherwise. ATTAR! has been entertaining us with tracks, reMixes and mixtapes for months now, his last original release being the free Folivora Parade.

Featuring vocals from Cherry, The Fool walks the line between slowed down robotic Disco and Italo in order to deliver a steady tune that’s a brooding as it is funky. With a slightly Killer-esque bassline, heavy on the synths, the track serves up an almost 80s SynthPop feel that is just faintly brushed with a Disco groove to make it dancefloor palatable. Possibly the best of both worlds. The B-side, Colibri, ups the tempo somewhat for a jackin’ House jam that hit’s just the right floorfilling notes. The single comes equipped with a reMix from Pete Oak, definitely worth checking out.

American Dreamwave/Nu-Disco producer All Night Shoes is making forays into DiscoPop and Chillwave with his new tune, Like This. Branching out from his Nu-Disco sound, All Night Shoes plays around with new elements and new tempos with this tune, including some pretty slick vocals to create a different mood altogether from his usual output.

Laid back in it’s approach, and it’s BPM, Like This weaves bits of Chillwave and ElectroPop into a poolside Disco groove. As with his last tune we featured, the Jazzy Hello Jupiter, All Night Shoes isn’t afraid to think outside the box but manages to contain all this experimentation inside a neat Pop structure, making Like This both interesting and accessible. One for lazy summer nights.

Here to brighten up your day, it’s the latest tune from SynthWave master Mitch Murder. Mitch continues to steadily crank out some of the highest quality retro sounds in the world. Often imitated, never duplicated, Mitch Murder’s works capture the 80s soundtrack feel like no-one else. Rather than latching onto a couple of clichéd tropes of what people imagine soundtracks were like in the 80s, Mitch  seeps himself in a real love of 80s Soundtrack music and as a result his pieces sound utterly authentic.

Thanks For Playing mixes homages to optimistic 80s Movies and very late 80s/early 90s 8-bit game console tunes. Like a breezy Sega game soundtrack composed by Vince DiCola, Thanks For Playing rolls along on forward pushing digital bassline, definitely the kind of driving force that keeps you playing.
