Edwin Van Cleef reMixes Vicknoise
Spanish club producer Vicknoise has just dropped a new EP titled ‘Get Away’. The EP contains the original, a reMix from Shelby Grey and this storming mix from Dreamwave hero Edwin Van Cleef.
In a seriously soaring reMix Edwin lets rip with spaced out leads flying all over the place and one of the nicest analog rhythm lines I have heard in a while, not quite Acidic, but on the way there.

Russ Chimes Vs. Ellie Goulding

I was gonna’ post this last night but I was so tired when I got in. This morning though, it’s all over the Blogosphere! And well deserved attention too!
Débuting over at Neon Gold’s blog this match of Ellie Goulding and Russ Chimes really is a match made in heaven, rivalling even his, frankly amazing, reMix of Marina And The Diamonds’ ‘Mowgli’s Road’.
Tackling ‘Starry Eyed’ is no mean feat, it’s a genius song to begin with and Russ achieves the impossible by giving it more energy and more epicness! Y’all know Russ’ style by now, well imagine his particular band of French House/Dreamwave/Nu-Disco turned up to 11 with the huge sing-along ‘Starry Eyed’ over the top, it really is that good!
OMG! The piano breakdown and kick back in! Shit, man, I got goosebumps!

‘Starry Eyed’ will be released on 22nd February with reMixes from Penguin Prison, Jakwob & Monsieur Adi, followed by Ellie’s album ‘Lights’ on 1st March.
The Banksy movie is real!
Shrouded in mystery and left off the official programme to retain secrecy, street artists Banksy’s first movie ‘Exit Through The Gift Shop’ premieres at the Sundance Film Festival this year. The story of a French shop keeper with a mission to film the graffiti artist at work takes a turn when Banksy the camera on him. The trailer has just hit YouTube:
Exit Through The Gift Shop is due to open at cinemas in the UK 5th March.

Demo track from Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy Soundtrack?
This broke over at the Daft World fansite, apparently this is a leaked demo of one of the tracks from Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack:

Real? We don’t know. It does sound like what you’d expect a Daft Punk Tron soundtrack to sound like. Whatever it is, fake or not, it’s actually pretty good and if it is from the soundtrack then it’s probably even better in the context of whatever scene it accompanies.
What do you think?
–UPDATE–: Thomas Bangalter has confirmed it’s a fake. Hardly surprising really, I doubt we’ll hear any of the soundtrack until it come’s out. Still think it’s a cool little piece of music though!
New Danger EP teaser video
We gave you the low down on Danger’s next EP right here, the time is nearly upon us when the Electro-House master shows everyone just how it’s done!
He’s dropped another new little teaser video, again with the oh-so-cool 16-bit stylee graphics. I would love him to do a mini-movie in this style, maybe when (if) he releases a full length album he will!
Danger’s 3rd EP, ‘09/17 2007’, will be released on 25th January an vinyl and 1st February digitally.
Curry & Coco
French duo Curry & Coco make some real raw, analog, ElectroPop. The partnership of Thomas and Sylvain strip down the Electro sound and add a bucket of nervous energy.
They are about to release their EP “Sex Is Fashion’ which features the lead tracks ‘Who’s Next’ and ‘Sex is Fashion’ and they have just dropped the video for ‘Who’s Next’:
The EP also features reMixes of ‘Sex Is Fashion’ from The Emperor Machine and We Are Enfant Terrible. I’m lovin’ the The Emperor Machine reMix with it’s big funk bass and huge synths and, er, bongo solo!

Curry & Coco release the EP this months ahead of their album ‘We Are Beauty’ at Peermusic.
Jacques L. Dorsey
Dug up by the Valerie crew’s blog is this upcoming French producer Jacques L. Dorsey. A Man of mystery with a brand new MySpace the word on the street is that he has some involvement in Daft Punk’s soundtrack for the forthcoming Tron sequel, Tron Legacy.
He’s got that 80’s nightdrive vibe down pat with this mid-tempo synth jam. Steady bass, Simmons toms a lead line to ride through the city streets!

All I need now is a Ferrari, something to brood about and a time machine! Go hit up JLD’s MySpace!

Monarchy Vs. Marina
Well, we kinda’ expected a flood of reMixes of Marina And The Diamonds forthcoming single, ‘Hollywood’, and y’know what? that’s no bad thing. Especially when they are of the standard set by Monarchy here!
I’m loving the heavily modulated synth bass, it’s got a really retro, really ‘harsh & warm at the same time’ tone. When the song kicks in proper it takes on a different flavour, all arpeggiated basslines and syncopated leads. Actually, it sounds like a heavily sidechained 80’s TV theme song!
Keep ‘em coming!

‘Hollywood’ is released 1st February 1st followed by Marina’s début album, ‘The Family Jewels’, which drops on 15th February.

The KiWi’s
Hehe, The KiWi’s, what’s that all about then, eh? don’t even try to wrap your head around what you are hearing here! OK, so we start off with plucked stings and chimes with an almost oriental soundtrack feel, but then, what’s this? Enter some serious synth axe work and marching drums…and is that children playing I hear in the background?
It’s beyond description really, but you know what? I like it! Give it a few listens (‘cos it’s pretty short) and I guarantee it will draw you in, although I can’t guarantee you’ll ever get out!

Their EP ‘14 years Old’ is out on On The Fruit Records on 30th January, until then show these guys some MySpace love:
