Site news: 2009<2010!!!
Shutting up shop for 48 hours while the new year is seen in with good friends, good music and good times!
electronic rumors hopes you all have a bangin’ new year’s eve and that you are all as exited as we are about the coming year’s electronic music. Just the first few months are going to be crazy good! Keep an eye out for albums from CHEW LiPS, Delphic, Shy Child, Marina And The Diamonds, Ellie Goulding & Goldfrapp and EPs from The Vanish, Fan Death, Russ Chimes (fingers crossed) and so many more.
As far as electronic rumors goes, there are some plans in the pipeline for 2010. Dedicated hosting, more contributors and a big ol’ site redesign are all on the cards for the coming months.
Thank you all for reading the site and sticking with us through this years downtime, If I didn’t know so many of you out there appreciate the site I might have never came back! I’m glad I did.

Insanity! Compiling a top twenty tracks of 2009 was infinitely harder than the album list, I have no idea how it got finished! Once again, there was so much good music released in 2009, it truly was a wicked year to be into electronic music, just look at that top ten! From established acts like Røyksopp to bands who made 2009 their own such as Filthy Dukes, La Roux and Little Boots to bands that are going to blow up in 2010 like CHEW LiPS and The Vanish, the music we’ve been given in 2009 has set the bar so high for the coming year.
I wish there were more slots, I could have easily made it a top 40 or 50, and like the album list I have probably forgotten some gem I was rockin’ to in January and I’ll probably want to reorder in a few hours. But right now, here’s the list. Many, many thanks to all the artists that provided our soundtrack to 2009 and all the artists featured on electronic rumors, without you this past year would have been a depressing, gray mess!

OK, well, here we go. This is the first of two ‘best of 2009’ posts we have for you and, damn, were they hard. Here we have our top 20 albums of 2009 and there were way more than 20 records that moved us this year. If you though narrowing it down to just 20 was hard, then trying to put them in order was nearly impossible! This year was a good year to be a lover of music generally, and a lover of Electro or ElectroPop specifically. As fans we were spoilt this year, every album here (particularly the top ten) is a stunning piece of work.
I’m sure there are records I have forgotten about, I’m sure in 24 hours time I will want to add something or rearrange the list, but for now, just for right now, these are the albums that rocked electronic rumors the most in 2009:

This’ll probably be the last post on electronic rumors before the new year, between now and then we’ll be working hard on our ‘best of 2009’ post.

Boxon Records artists, German duo Dyebox, have stopped by the electronic rumors Inbox with an X-Mas present for our readers.
A brand new reMix of the title track of their ‘Catch The Looks’ EP along with a reMix of another EP track ‘Colour Run’
Super Super take on the title track bringing warp bass and big syncopated synth riffs to their huge Electro-House mix. Meanwhile Stuttgart’s Rotze get’s noisy and slightly old school with their reMix that’s bound kill, late night, on Electro dancefloors.

New New Young Pony Club!!!
New Young Pony Club, the band that spearheaded the 80’s revival/Modular Recordings/Indie-Electro summer of 2007 in the UK finally return with a new single.
‘Lost A Girl’ is a taste of what to expect from their long awaited second album ‘The Optimist’. More obviously Indie than their previous sound but still laden with interesting synth work, it’s a catchy song that takes a little 80’s SynthPop, a little DFA style Electro and a little early 90’s Indie. Welcome back NYPC!

Eclectic Indie-Electro outfit Miike Snow have just dropped the video for their upcoming single ‘Silvia’.
The single is released January 25th and taken from their self-titled album.

Miami Horror Vs. Codebreaker
Some deep funky Electro House with wicked retro synth riffs now from Codebreaker who have done a straight up P-Funk reMix of Miami Horror’s recently hyped track ‘Make You Mine’.
The Midwestern duo take Nu-Disco and get Funkadelic on it’s ass then stick Miami Horror through through the machine. The end result being a smooth, analog synthy, Disco Funk monster!

Popular Damage reMixed by Fukkk Offf
Popular Damage is a Manchester/Berlin collaboration by Nadine Raihani and Stephan Hengst that produces some particularly fine Indie-Punk-Dance-Pop.
Having gigged extensively in 2009, December became the time to drop their first EP ,‘The Royal Fly’ which features reMixing appearances by the likes of Double Dragon, Beatshaker & Blender and this one by Fukkk Offf who bring a deep electro Vs. old school house feel to the EP’s title track ‘Everybody Got Young’

Feathers
Another new mystery band on the block?
So, yeah, not much to say about who Feathers are so let’s let the music speak for them. This US duo produce some dreamy SynthPop with Indie overtones. ‘Weird Summer’ is a chilled, floaty tune perfect for coming home to after a club on a summer’s morning…pity it’s December! ‘Small Rooms’ kick’s slightly harder with more of an eye on the dancefloor with some nice cheap synth riffs.
