Site News: Sorry for the radio silence!

We’re comin’ back, honest!
Just experiencing some technical (read; ‘real life’) difficulties.
Expecting to be back in the next couple of weeks, the sooner the better.
SO much good stuff to share!
Take it easy…
The Presets’ ‘If I Know You’ reMixed

Naked Highway have only gone and reMixed one of my favourite tracks by The Presets haven’t they!
Their take on ‘If I Know You’ is a full on Roland-fest, old school clean Roland sounds make up this straight up dance mix. I love this track anyway, I swear it’d be impossible to mess up a reMix with these vocals.
Really dsiggin the drums in this.
Oh, and there’s a Radio Edit in case you’re, y’know, ADD or something.

The week in Bangers: 07:06:09
The week in Bangers: While electronic rumors isn’t strictly an Electro-House blog, we do cover a lot of Electro-House that crosses over in to our realm. So many good club tunes and reMixes surface each week we can’t (and wouldn’t) cover them all, so this is a round up of some of the best from the week that we didn’t have time to dedicate individual posts to…
This weeks club roundup starts off with another reMix of La Roux’s ‘Bulletproof’ by tEPr and a Vitalic reMix of Birdy Nam Nam’s ‘The Parachute Ending’. Friendly Fires get reworked by Stuart Price A.K.A. Thin White Duke and Death To The Throne take on a Lykke Li cover of a Kings Of Leon song. Fredrick Carlsson reMixes Jonathan Johansson as Johan Agebjörn does for Friday Bridge. The Preset’s K.I.M tackles Bag Raiders’ ‘Turbo Love’ and the forthcoming Simian Mobile Disco single is given the treatment by Naum Gabo. Enjoy!

Good Luck At The Gunfight summer lovin’
“Kimberly is about a girl. Puma is about a woman.”
That’s how Good Luck At The Gunfight describe the latest tracks they dropped in the electronic rumors Inbox and when you keep that in mind it kinda’ makes sense.
We blogged GLATG a few months ago (well, raved about them really) and since then they have polished up the production and brought us two tracks that are a lot smoother than their previous delivery. With sweet lead lines and vocodered vocals these are two, in their own words, “electric summer love songs”.
I couldn’t agree more.

Saar & Sky
It’s my pleasure to introduce to you Saar & Sky, and I say “my pleasure” as I believe S&S are one of the best bands in London, which in the current musical climate is saying quite a lot.
Both members of electronic act New Europeans, these two have branched off to produce something kinda’ poppier than their previous work.
In a world of retro-esq or nostalgia laden gimmicky tracks this ElectroPop duo make authentic 80’s sounding Pop tunes. Even without the synth work the songwriting itself is straight out of the great decade but the package is wrapped with the tiniest hint of French/Electro-House, just enough to make it sound fresh and relevant.
Whether it’s the layers of synthesizers, the electro toms or Saar’s impassioned vocals (which have just the right amount of theatricality without sounding over the top, a real trait of 80’s vocals) the guys have nailed it.
Give it a listen:

Pony Pony Run Run
Getting some major airplay in Europe is French ElectroPop trio Pony Pony Run Run’s latest single ‘Hey You’. The accompanying reMixes are a really great crop of tunes.
Pony Pony Run Run themselves have dropped a stunning dance reMix. Heavier than the original it’s a ice cold Nu-Disco/ElectroPop mashup.
StereoHeroes have fun with their reMix, warping sound and bringing an old school dance flavour before dropping the Disco riffs while sayCet go completely the opposite direction and deliver an ambient, chilled noise lullaby that sounds like the world winding down.

Emil & Friends – Downed Economy
Emil & Friends have dropped a whole mess of reMixes of their forthcoming ‘Downed Economy’ 7”.
The original is a strange and wonderful Synth Funk garage jam. Making the track their own are Dim Mak’s Dan Oh who ups the groove factor to 9.5 with dirty synths and wobbly bass. Mr. Vegas’ version is a lot more abrasive, rapid fire bass and heavy beats seem to pin down the floaty vocals while the same vocals sit perfectly with Beaumont’s atmospheric retro House track.

Buffetlibre reMixes Partick Wolf
Do The Buffetlibre DJs ever stop? the are like a music factory with all their reMixes and projects!
London Indie/Electo/Pop enigma Patrick Wolf being their latest target. their reMix of his ‘Who Will?’ is a giant, high energy, electronic anthem that is well worth a few repeats!

‘Who Will?’ is taken from Patrick’s album, ‘The Bachelor’.
Robyn covers Yelle
‘Ding!’ “Seconds out, Round two!”
Ducking and diving, it’s the mad Swede Robyn with an English take on Yelle’s ‘À Cause Des Garçons’, ‘Because Of Boys’.
Mixing it up ‘Cobrastyle’ Robyn’s tack is actually very cool, however the song itself doesn’t translate as well which is most evident in the chorus. What was once a big focal point to the track becomes almost apologetic in English.
It’s a pity as Robyn brought a brilliant ElectroPop tune to the ring.
♫ Robyn – Because Of Boys (À Cause Des Garçons) (Yelle Cover) (zShare) (MediaFire)
I kinda’ prefer Yelle’s track, but in the end the we, the listeners, are the winners!
Yelle covers Robyn
As part of the iTunes Foreign Exchange series France and Sweden are going head-to-head in a clash of the ElectroPop nutcases.
Round One sees Parisian Electro queen Yelle covering Robyn’s ‘Who’s That Girl?’ in her native tongue and she comes out swinging with a brilliant upbeat Club-Pop take on the track that’s bristling with ‘crazy’.
