New Heartsrevolution video!

With Kitsuné Music’s imminent release of their seventh Kitsuné Maison compilation, ‘The Lucky Ones’, Heartsrevolution have premiered the video for the song they have featured on the album.

Entitled ‘薔薇と彼女の王子’, which translates as ‘The Rose And Her Prince’ the tune is a bit of a departure from the usual happy noise terror we are used to with the Heart’s Challenger lot, it’s more downtempo, more chilled, but I am so in love with this track!

‘薔薇と彼女の王子’ is just one of the fantastic cuts on Kitsuné Maison 7 which is released June 1st.

Valerie And Friends

ValerieAndFirends

Tomorrow sees the release of the incredibly eagerly anticipated first compilation from the Valerie collective.

I can’t stress enough how team Valerie are producing some of the best synthesizer music around today, their particular take on Electro-House comes with a huge helping of retro 80’s cool. With a definite slant toward 80’s soundtracks (particularly of the straight-to-video teen/horror/action variety) you can’t help but imagine all the various acts involved hanging out and watching 80’s pulp movies before heading off to their studios

Featuring retro graphic design work, as usual, by The Zonders, the line up for the album is Minitel Rose, Anoraak, Jupiter, DVAS, College, Keenhouse, Electric Youth, Russ Chimes, Maethelvin, The Outrunners, Futurecop!, Moulinex & Press, Release, SymbolOne, Xinobi, Narctrax, Loose Shus and Steve Moore.

Here are Futurecop! and Russ Chimes’ contributions; both great examples of the Valerie sound and what to expect on this record, soaring leads, disco beats and crazy arpeggios…

Russ Chimes – Daytona (zShare) (MediaFire)

New Simian Mobile Disco!!!

SimianMobileDisco2

Electro dance superstars Simian Mobile Disco are now starting the approach phase for the release of their second album, ‘Temporary Pleasure’, which is due out August 17th and will feature guest appearances by the likes of Beth Ditto, Jamie Lidell, Alexis Taylor & Telepathe.

It looks like this track, ‘Audacity Of Huge’, graced with the vocals of Yeasayer’s Chris Keating, will be the lead in single. Give it a listen, it’s a pretty fantastic mix of SMD’s hypnotic Electro-House and 80’s rock style vocals.

The week in Bangers: 24:05:09

The week in Bangers: While electronic rumors isn’t strictly an Electro-House blog, we do cover a lot of Electro-House that crosses over in to our realm. So many good club tunes and reMixes surface each week we can’t (and wouldn’t) cover them all, so this is a round up of some of the best from the week that we didn’t have time to dedicate individual posts to…

SpeakerGraffiti

Here comes the bangers! This week we start off with French Indie gods Phoenix, as reMixed by the amazing Yuksek. One of my favourite bands, The Faint, get the treatment from Hot Pink Delorean & Knowlton Walsh and the similarly great Sneaky Sound System are talked by Stuart Price A.K.A. Thin White Duke. The Shoes reMix Golden Silvers and Alex Braxe takes on Fenech-Soler. there a new reMix of Little Boots’ ‘Stuck On Repeat’ by DJ Adamix & Oli Freke whilst Hervé goes crazy on Depeche Mode’s next single. We end as we started with Phoenix, this time reMixed by Holy Ghost!. The circle is now complete!

Frankmusik gets the Don Diablo treatment

Frankmusik

Don Diablo is a reMix machine! The man must work 24 hours a day, he churns out quality reMix after quality reMix. His newest subject is Frankmusik, with a reMix of his forthcoming single ‘Confusion Girl’

A departure from Don’s usual bangers this reMix is a groovin’ epic that will have your head nodding and toes tapping with some interesting use of guitars on top of the synth work as Mr. Diablo plays fast and loose with Vincent’s vocals.

A perfect summer evening track.

Beaumont

Beaumont

We really liked Beaumont’s reMix of Ladyhawke that we posted here so when an email full of the man’s tunes landed in the electronic rumors Inbox we were more than interested.

Beaumont has a cool sound; a Valerie-esq retro Electro flavour with an infusion of 8-bit video game noises. What more could you ask for?

We’ve got three of his tracks here, all of them top quality Nu-Disco, with sharp FM lead lines, fat analog basses and that slight 80’s soundtrack feel that always works so well.

Beaumont’s use of bit crunched beeps and blips definitely set him apart from the pack.

Beaumont – Neon Dawn (Intro. Mix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Beaumont – Last Night (zShare) (MediaFire)

Beaumont – Recital (zShare) (MediaFire)

Beaumont also dropped his reMix of Empire Of The Sun’s ‘We Are The People’, a chord driven retro epic.

Backlash

Backlash

2004…one of the finest ElectroPop tracks of the year was undoubtedly ‘Loadstar’ by Swedish act Backlash. Brilliant in almost every way, the tune, and accompanying album ‘Heliotrope’, was a hit in clubs across Europe.

Five years and three albums later Backlash are back with plans to drop four EPs in the coming months, the first being the ‘Quiet Men EP’ and as the telling title suggests the EP is a tribute to early Ultravox.

Both tracks on the EP are covers taken from Ultravox’s 1978 album ‘Systems Of Romance’. The EP will contain the two covers as well as a 12 Inch Club Mix of ‘Quiet Men’ and an original Backlash track.

I gotta’ say, tributes usually give me the fear and feature mediocre, limp interpretations of the originals but here Backlash have really outdone themselves, both ‘Quiet Men’ and ‘Slow Motion’ are perfectly executed updates of their subjects. Hearing the old classic songwriting with flawless modern production it a real treat and Backlash manage to keep a real retro vibe whilst being musically relevant.

The band have seriously made the songs their own, all the time remaining respectful of the originals.

Whether you’re a fan of late 70’s-early 80’s SynthPop or of modern Electro, this EP will defiantly be something you should expose yourself to!

Memento Materia, who are releasing the EPs, kindly dropped a couple of tasters into the electronic rumors Inbox, check them out:
